Abstract:
Purpose
Puipose ofthis study is to highlight the impact ofsome Human Resource Management practices
which companies should adopt or aim to adopt during the critical times such as covid-19
pandemic in order to retain their employees.
Methodology & Design
Deductive approach for the research has been used and the type of research is explanatory and
research design used is descriptive design. A sample of 400 people was selected from Karachi
industrial sector using convenience sampling and data was collected through google forms.
Findings
Results were obtained using correlation and regression and it was found that except health
benefits all selected HR practices have a significant impact on employee retention during covid 19 while health benefits has a less significant impact.
Limitations
The study was conducted in Karachi so responses are limited to Karachi only also limited HR
practices were selected which are supportive workplace environment, financial benefits, internal
communication and health benefits. Also this study is limited to covid-19 pandemic.
Recommendations
Based on the study it is recommended that HR practices are important factors in retaining
employees in the organization during covid-19 pandemic so it should be focused and
implemented by the organizations in order to retain employees, while health benefits has a less
significant impact on employee retention but can be implemented in the organizations because
the results of this study were limited to 400 people. This study can also be used for future
researches such as global pandemics and other mishaps.
