IMPACT OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON HOSPITAL PERFORMANCE: A STUDY CONDUCTED IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS OF KARACHI, PAKISTAN

Abstract

Purpose: This lesearch study investigated the Impact of implementing Quality management methods piivate hospitals performance in Karachi. The reason of this study is to investigate the effects of quality management practices on hospital performance. This study also determines the relationship of quality management with hospital performance in private hospitals ofKarachi, Pakistan. on Methodology & Design; The sample size chosen for current study was around 400 but the data collected was 257 out of which 200 are selected while others were rejected because of incompleteness and inconsistency. This study used random stratified sampling, explanatory type and explanatory approach to gather data from private leading hospitals of Karachi, Pakistan. Findings: The findings of the research show that QM practices implemented in private hospitals of Karachi has an impact on hospital performance. In this study it has been discovered that TMC, WFM and QP showed a positive impact on hospital performance. Implications: This study provides dimensions to develop commitment of top managers, management of employees (Workforce), and performance of quality in the hospital. The study results can be the guidance for the policy makers and managers to improve quality management for better hospital performance in Karachi hospitals as well as globally.
