Abstract:
Purpose
The primary aim of this study is to investigate the role of leadership on the employee
performance in the healthcare sector of Karachi. The study is based on studying the leadership
roles in Liaquat National Hospital.
Methodology
The methodology for this study included primary quantitative design with random sampling
and regression correlation analysis technique along with reliability analysis.
Findings
The study found that autocratic leadership is best suited to be implemented in Liaquat National
Hospital. This leadership style was found to be most effective for increasing employees’
performance.
Conclusion
The study concluded that all healthcare institutions must implement a leadership style suiting
their environment. Each healthcare institution such as hospital or clinic have their own unique
environment. Hence, the work climate must be evaluated before implementing any leadership
style.
Practical Implications
The study will motivate the doctors and supervisors heading the workforce at LNH to study the
autocratic leadership and try to lead them to increase their performances.
