Abstract:
Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to analyse the big five personality traits impact i.e.
Extraversion, Agreeableness, Openness to Experience, Neuroticism, Conscientiousness in
group performance in multinational organization. The study is carried out in one of the
Karachi’s famous textile multinational organization i.e. Archroma Pakistan Limited.
Methodology:
This research is explanatory in nature based on deductive approach. The data was collected
with the help of a research instrument i.e. a questionnaire from a sample of300 employees
of the Archroma Pakistan Limited. Quantitative data was collected on a Likert scale
ranging from 1 to 5 which was further analysed through statistical tools correlation and
regression analysis by using SPSS, version 23.
Findings:
Agreeableness, conscientiousness, and extraversion all have a positive effect on team
effectiveness. However, only agreeableness and openness to new experiences have a
significant link with team performance, according to this study. The relation between
conscientiousness and team performance, as well as the relationship between extroversion
and team performance, were both shown to be inconsequential in this study.
Practical Implications:
The current study considered quite useful for the industry in ascertaining the effect of
chosen variables on team performance. Management of other industries may also benefit
from the findings ofthis study. To get a competitive advantage, businesses should leverage
teams rather than individuals.
