dc.description.abstract mplementation of smart cities is one of the trending topics discussed in this technological era. But even in this era the step towards smart cities is not as simple as it seems. So, there is a need to work on existing infrastructures. A large number of lampposts used are just merely metallic pole and a significant amount of money is spent on it providing only light even whose switching system are manual, with low power efficiency So, A humble lamppost is pro- posed to modernize these lampposts by equipping them with components like camera, a smart led light, environmental sensors, internet access point, LCD digital signage, SOS emergency feature, mobile charging, and a solar panel. Smart lighting system uses LED lights instead of traditional bulbs. A smart system is used to make sure that light is adjusted as per requirement like in the night the LED will Turn ON automatically and will not glow to 100 percent until motion is detected which will be achieved by using PIR sensor. all these steps will ensure a more Power Efficient system and losses will be minimized. For Security and Emergency situation a Pi camera programmed with HAAR Cascade ML Algorithm is used for the purpose of Fire, Accident and Pedestrian Detection. For emergency services a Panic button is also available in case of any other emergency through which one would be able to alert the relevant emergency services. Weather and air quality updates are shown on screen using Node-RED GUI stored on Firebase platform synchronized with sensors like MQ-135, MQ-02 and DHT-22. Digital Advertisement is also shown on LCD using Pi Signage platform. All these modules are integrated on Raspberry Pi and are powered by green energy.
