Abstract:
The demand driven supply chains require accurate forecasting to predict amplification or shortage of customer need. This paper aims to take a deep dive into causes and effect of bullwhip effect on supply chain performance of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. It also documents the phenomenon of demand variability from customer’s end to manufacturing. Based on data from Pakistan Tobacco Company, from perspective of tobacco sector of Pakistan, we try to document the causes and effect of bullwhip effect by empirical study method.
