| dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the impact of information and communication technology on procurement performance of manufacturing firms in Pakistan. It differs from previous studies as it focuses on the manufacturing perspective of procurement performance. Data was collected from 10 SECP registered pharmaceutical firms in Twin cities (Rawalpindi & Islamabad) of Pakistan. Primary and secondary sources were used for data collection and the study was quantitative in nature. Secondary data was gathered through research articles, journals, websites magazines and newspapers etc. Primary data was gathered by floating the structured questionnaire among the firms and 170 responses were collected. E-procurement technologies and buyer-supplier relationship were independent variables while dependent variable of the study was procurement performance. The purpose of this study is to differentiate between the traditional and e-procurement practices and study the impact of both practices on performance of the organization. Results of this study are expected to assist the procurement function of manufacturing firms in Pakistan. | en_US |
