Impact of Supplier’s Quality Commitment, Financial Stability and Competence on Procurement Performance in Pharmaceutical Sector of Pakistan

Abstract

Procurement is an important function to ensure meeting its organizational goals. This study focuses on the role of evaluation on procurement performance in pharmaceutical sector of Pakistan. In this study, supplier’s quality commitment, supplier’s financial stability and supplier competence and procurement performance has been highlighted to oversee the current scenario of pharmaceutical sector of Pakistan. This research aims at the target population of the Pharmaceutical industry in Islamabad, Pakistan; because head offices of most of the front line Pharma Sector are based in Islamabad. 150 filled questionnaires were found accurate and as per research criteria, so this data has finally analyzed. The conclusion was made that supplier quality commitment, supplier’s financial stability and supplier’s competence has significant effect on procurement performance of in pharmaceutical industry. However, the effect would be significant for organizations that deal with physical products. The Suggestions were at the end of the study for the betterment of pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan.
