Effect of Inventory Management and Warehousing Over Operational Performance in Textile Sector of Pakistan

Abstract

This study has aimed of investigating the impact of inventory management and warehousing on operational performance in textile sector of Pakistan. There is limited research done on the impact of inventory management and warehousing on operational performance in Pakistan and this gap has been identified through detailed study of related articles. This study has considered inventory management and warehousing as independent variables. Whereas, operational performance has been considered as a dependent variable. However, textile sector of Pakistan has been the industry chosen for testing the relationship between variables of this study mentioned above. Structured questionnaire based on 5 Likert scale has been the research instrument used within this study for collection of data from respondents (supply chain members working for textile firms of Pakistan). Meanwhile, a sample size of 200 respondents to represent the entire population has been finalized. Questionnaires were distributed amongst respondents (supply chain members working for textile firms of Pakistan) to gather the data. Collected data has then been analyzed through statistical instruments such as correlation and regression by using SPSS Software. Based on the findings, it has been concluded that there exists a significant relationship between inventory management (independent variables) and operational performance (dependent variable) in textile sector of Pakistan.
