Abstract:
during the past two decades. It is expected to continue to influence strategic discussions as well as actual political, military, and economic processes for some time. This aim has led Washington to become increasingly frustrated with Islamabad, a long-time partner during the Cold War, for its unwillingness to help the United States achieve its goals. A stronger connection between the United States and India is putting Pakistan's future at risk. In consideration of this, the US wants to align itself with India as its preferred ally in the region. As a consequence, Pakistan has sought more reliable friends, creating consternation among experts who disagree over Pakistan's place among the main powers in this multipolar system. Throughout the Cold War (bipolar power distribution), the War on Terror, and the current multipolar power distribution, this research shows that Pakistan would most likely balance the main powers against one another. It obtains in the long run for accomplishing its own strategic goals in order to optimize the benefits. Pakistan has also shifted its attention to China, viewing it as a counterweight to India and a way of restraining India's growing dominance in the region, having learned from its mistakes. India is helping the United States in maintaining control over its interests in South Asia and the Indian Ocean. There are significant geopolitical, geo-economics, and security ramifications that will be addressed in this study, given the continuing Strategic Alliances in South Asia and competition between the two powers, i.e., the United States and China.
