| dc.description.abstract | Many attempts have been made to shorten the Mindfulness Based Interventions to make them more accessible for the general and clinical population while maintaining their efficacy and therapeutic content. The aim of the present study was to assess the efficacy of Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions for the improvement of mental health and Positive Psychological Functioning among recently divorced women. Present study is based on experimental research design, comprising two groups i.e. experimental and control group. Experimental group received Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions while the control group received no Intervention at all. Efficacy of Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions has been explored in improving mental health and Positive Psychological Functioning of the experimental group. To identify the difference in results of both groups, pre and post testing has been done. Recently divorced women of both groups had significantly high scores on DASS-21 and low scores on Positive Psychological Functioning Scale in pre-testing. Experimental group’s mental health and Positive Psychological Functioning was improved after participants’ participation in Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions and it was noticeable in post-testing results. Control group’s post-testing results showed no improvement at all. Results of both groups concluded that Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions are effective in improving mental health and Positive Psychological Functioning of recently divorced women. Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions can be a potentially more accessible measure to improve mental health and Positive Psychological Functioning of a larger number of population. Nevertheless, further studies with more productive designs to explore the efficacy of Brief Mindfulness Based Interventions on clinical and non clinical population are warranted. | en_US |
