| dc.description.abstract | Depression effects one in the every five person in life time. Psychotherapies show efficient result for the treatment of depression, though Transactional Analysis (TA) therapy is up till now having less research evidences for the effectiveness of depression. The current study is intended to explore the process of transactional analysis as the mode of therapeutic treatment for the depression clients. Study is based on naturalistic experimental design (Pre and post testing). Eight cases with the age range of 18-50 years are used to investigate the TA therapy process up to eight sessions. Therapy was provided in two different hospital/clinic Psychiatry departments at Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi and a Me1yum Clinic Rawalpindi (a private psychological setting). Purposive sampling was done for the data collection. Four scales were used in study two were quantitative measures i.e. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for the measurement of depression intensity and Coping style scale (CSS) for accessing coping style of clients. Qualitative measures were Helpful Aspect of Therapy (HAT form) for the helping and hindering aspect of therapy and Client Change Interview Schedule (CCIS) to identify the changes according to client. Results of study demonstrated that TA therapy has positive outcome for the treatment of depression. TA provides flexible terminology and frame for the client and therapist. Clients of current study reported TA helpful medium to understand their lives and help them to bring significant changes for their better life survival. | en_US |
