The Present study aims at exploring the Mental health, Perceived social support and Quality of life. The purpose of the study is to highlight the issues regarding mental health among the individuals of Rawalakot Ajk.Convenient sampling was utilized to collect data. The scales used in this study were Mental health inventory (MHI-38) (Jabeen, Hanif., Tariq., 2015), World Health Organization (WHO) survey on the Quality of Life, Brief Form ( WHOQOLBREF)( WHO,2002)and Multi-Dimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support Scale (MSPSS) (Jabin, 2010). Data was collected from different colleges, universities and from some of their houses. The sample selected (N=200) comprised of males (n=49) and females (n=151) with age range 18 to 65 years living in Rawalakot, The results of the study represents that there is a significant positive relationship between each subscale of Mental health, Quality of life and Perceived Social support. The results of the study indicated that mental health is negatively correlated with Quality of life. Similarly results of study also showed that there is no significant mean difference between family system on the domains of Quality of life, except anxiety, depression and loss of behavior. Results showed nuclear family system score high on Mental health (anxiety, depression and loss of behavior) as compared to joint family system. Whereas females are considered to have more social support than males. Highest level of Perceived social support is identified with the age group of above 26 years among the respondents and the lowest level of MSPSS is 24 years .Similarly highest level of Perceived social support is identified with the education group of Intermediate among the respondents, and the lowest is Metric among the respondents. |
