dc.description.abstract The continuous danger for the soldiers can be decreased; if instead of humans surveillance can be done by robots. The “Wi-Fi Enabled Unmanned Ground Vehicle” is able to provide this option to soldiers. The user can control and drive this UNMANNED GROUND VEHICLE from laptop which can be at some distance from the UNMANNED GROUND VEHICLE. The motion of car is controlled via microcontroller ATMega48. This microcontroller is connected serially with laptop. Then this Microcontroller is connected to RC circuit of Car remote. The command for car motion is send from laptop to the Microcontroller. These commands are passed on to the RC circuit of Remote of car. Then from RC circuit these commands are passed on to the motors of car over Wi-Fi. The maximum distance is approximately 455 feet. This UGV can communicate through Wi-Fi with laptop. This Unmanned Ground Vehicle transmits live video from its current position to the receiver connected to laptop. For the video surveillance IP Network Camera and Wireless Router is used. The user can only monitor the area if he/she knows the Login Username and Password. In this manner, the live video surveillance over Internet is secured. Moreover, it can move on a given path. The user can enter the path in the form of string. The microcontroller ATmega48 will then parse the string and drive the car accordingly. After completion of the given path, the microcontroller will again go to the wait state. There will be a Graphical User Interface designed in Visual Basic. This GUI contains the area where user can enters the inputs along with the time duration for any particular direction. There are four alphabets for all four directions which are; W for Forward, D for Right, A for Left and S for Reverse. The format of entering the command of motion is “A234”. This means that car should move to left for 234 milliseconds time duration. There are separate module for the charging of batteries which are connected to the IP Network Camera and Wireless Router. Another feature of this project is that the user can change the program code of microcontroller ATMega48 any time anywhere. To make this feature available, Si-Programmer circuit is used. This circuit provides the ability of reading and writing the code by using “Code Vision AVR” and “USB to Parallel Converter” .This UNMANNED GROUND VEHICLE is easy to deploy in the area of surveillance. The user just has to place the UNMANNED GROUND VEHICLE and the laptop in the area of surveillance. Then he is able to monitor whole area live over internet. This Project is realistic and beneficial not only for the soldiers but for different sentinels as well. en_US
