dc.description.abstract This study aimed to assess the impact of emotional intelligence on project performance with mediating effect of task interdependence in construction projects in twin cities of Pakistan. The independent variable of the study were Goleman (1998) emotional intelligence dimensions (self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness and relationship management), dependent variable (project performance) and mediator (task interdependence). The population in this research were the employees working in construction industry in Rawalpindi/Islamabad. To investigate this relationship, a survey has been conducted through an adopted structured questionnaire survey. The statistical instruments used to find the results was SPSS version 22. Thus the analysis includes descriptive frequencies, reliability, descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, mediation analysis (Baron & Kenny). This research found that there is significant relationship between self-management and task interdependence; relationship-management and task interdependence; task interdependence and project performance. Furthermore, the findings of the mediation analysis found that task interdependence positively mediates the relationship between all the dimensions of EI (self-awareness, self-management, and socialawareness and relationship management) and project performance in construction industry in twin cities of Pakistan. Conclusively, it has been proved that emotional intelligence positively impacts task interdependence and task interdependence positively impacts project performance in construction industry in twin cities of Pakistan. en_US
