Abstract:
In organizations, the term maturity refers to a condition suitable for an organization to achieve its objectives. Project management maturity provides a road map for an organization to gain perfection in project management processes. Project management maturity has direct impact on competitive advantage. On the other hand, organizational learning has direct impact on the relationship of project management maturity on competitive advantage. In order to evaluate the relationship of project management maturity on competitive advantage and the impact of organization learning on this relationship, a study has been conducted in construction sector of Islamabad, Pakistan. Questionnaires were distributed amongst the project management department of construction firms residing in Islamabad, Pakistan. In total, 290 project manager who are currently or previously undertaken construction projects. The results of study shows that project management maturity has significant and positive impact on competitive advantage and organizational learning serves enhances this relationship. A high level of project management maturity ensures greater probability of competitive advantage whereas this relationship is further strengthen for learning organizations.
