| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the project is to make such a robot, which can be controlled through a website and provide high-speed video stream for surveillance purpose. The applications of this project are unlimited. Along with surveillance can be the basis of several other applications such as controlled bomb disposal robot etc. A chained tank like mechanism is used for the robot, which will be driven by two 12V-2A DC motors. The motors will be connected to H-Bridges, which further will be connected to a micro-controller. The micro-controller pins are responsible for governing the direction of the robot. A manual override option is also available to make robot move in some specific direction. On the robot a computer will be installed. To which a camera will be attached using the USB port of the computer. A serial port connection will be made between computer and the micro-controller. HyperTerminal is a windows application that accesses the serial port. Thus a JAVA based application will be made which will integrate the HyperTerminal and the incoming video stream. The java-based console will access HyperTerminal and send commands to the micro-controller. The java-based application will also be responsible for uploading the video to a web server. On the other side a website with a youtube type layout and flash capabilities will be made. The website will also have a console which can be accessed. The on website console will be linked to the on board console on the robot. The commands unleashed on the web page will reach the robot using a Wi-Max connection. Similarly the video stream will be uploaded on the web, using a Wi-Max connection, from the robot. The website will be only available provided the user enters a valid login and password. | en_US |
