dc.description.abstract This project ‘Design and Implementation of a UAV using GPS’ involves building of UAV with distinct features. The UAV is built with the help of a ‘Do it yourself’ (DIY) kit based on the design taken from MIT research paper. The size of UAV is kept large purposely, keeping in mind that the stable flight of a UAV is size dependent. Secondly the UAV also needs to take a payload during its flight; otherwise the flight of a craft is not possible because of the features attached to it. The designed UAV has a 4-stroke engine, (20CC power) fuel driven engine. The main focus of this project is GPS system navigation, which tells the exact position of the craft. The craft is designed on the software to know its lift, drag and angle of attack. The UAV is also capable of doing surveillance. For this purpose, a camera is attached at the bottom of a fuselage for making video during its flight. The transmitter for the camera is attached inside the fuselage powered by a battery which is fitted in the fuselage. The receiver end of this camera is connected to the laptop or TV which streams real time live video of its flight. en_US
