| dc.description.abstract | Project success is the aim of every project manager and stackholder. It has been revealed through the past litreture that the measure of success is continually changing with the passage of time. The emphasis of the stakeholders on the perfection has made the project success criterion band too nan-ow to achieve easily. A number of researches have been carried out, especially in past two decades, regarding the constraints on which the project success depends. The end user is found more interested in the competencies needed by a successful project manager that can ultimately transfonn a project into success. Project success is influenced by numerous factors, however soft competencies have become most important. In this research four soft competencies i.e. communication, team work, attentiveness and managing conflict are taken as independent variables while uncertainty avoidance is in a moderating role to fill the identified gap in so far researches. Effect on project manager and team members have been quantitatively studied and analyzed in a conglomerate of 22 companies. The detail statistical investigations based on regression, test of sphericity and Kaiser Meyer Olkin were carried out on a sample of 264 data values. The results concluded that soft competencies are most important for success of the project. However, the attentiveness on the basis of stati stical analysis found to be weakly related to project success in this case. Moreover, uncertainty avoidance plays a vital role in moderating the relationship of soft competencies on project success. | en_US |
