Empirical Analysis of Critical Success Factors for Big Data Project Effectiveness

Abstract

Big data analytics is one the most emerging trend. Companies are focusing on the data analytics to improve their performance. Companies are investing huge amounts of resources to manage and maintain Big Data. The success and failures of the project is one of the fields in Project Management with most frequently discussed. Project There are several Critical Success Factors (CSFs) associated with the effective management and maintenance of Big Data Analytics. This research study mainly focused on the identification of Critical Success Factors (CSFs) categories published in academic journals and conference proceedings on Big Data Analytics. This study highlighted six main Critical Success Factors; Investments, Infrastructure, Balanced Team Work, Analytical Skills and Capabilities, Business Driven Objectives and Executive Management Support and Leadership. A model is derived from findings of the literature review and tested within the Oil and Gas Sector of Pakistan through quantitative. This research adopts the quantitative approach. This study also discusses the moderating role of Data Driven Culture between Critical success factors and Big Data Project Effectiveness.
