Analysing the Impact of Project Governance on Project Success with the Mediating Role of Benefit Management – A Study of NGO Sector Development Projects

Abstract

This study has analyzed the impact of project governance practices on the success of the projects that are carried out by the NGO sector in Pakistan. This study has also analyzed the significance of benefit management as a mediator in between project governance and project success in order to achieve the organizational strategic goals and objectives. Quantitative research methodology has been used in this research in which survey questionnaires have been conducted from the project management staff of the selected NGOs which have their head-offices in Islamabad. A total of 131 responses as per the purposive sampling of the project management staff of selected NGOs have been used to draw the results of this research using SPSS 23 to analyze the correlation between the three main variables of this research as well as regression and mediation analysis using Process Macro v 2.3 in order to prove the hypothesis of this research and answer the research questions of this research study. Data analysis of this research study depicts that there is a strong positive correlation between all three variables of this research as well as a significant effect of project governance on project success and a partial mediating effect of benefit management in the relation between project governance and project success. Thus proving the hypothesis of this research as well as answering the research questions of this research.
