dc.description.abstract | Pakistan is an agricultural country that consists of 57% of cultivated land, and it contributed 21 %to the GDP of Pakistan. Along with that one specific fruit the citrus fruit are irrigated on 185,400 hectors of land and add good value to the economy as Pakistan export its citrus fruits around the world having annual Production of 16.7 Million tons.95 % of these plants irrigated in Punjab mostly in the Sargodha belt. Pakistan has not advanced in the agriculture sector. As the farmer are not literate and usually scared to adopt new techniques and methods for better yield. In Pakistan most of the farmers use traditional methods for irrigation such as pulling water from ground by using tube well, charsa method in southern Punjab and Baluchistan, through water channels. Due to which farmer have very limited control on the water distribution which in result gives inefficient and irregular yield every year. This also contributes towards the misuse , excess use loss of water eventually contributing in the destruction of the crop. Recently Pakistan adopted drip system which is mostly used to irrigate the citrus fields and vegetable fields. Drip system proves to be efficient system but it requires lot of man power . Due to the excess of water the soil stay hydrated and the plant gets the fungus diseases which plays the main role for spoiling the citrus plant. To counter over excess water to the fields we have designed the IOT based solution in which we have automated the water monitoring and preservation system. The proposed system have used soil moisture sensor , Motor which is integrates to the weather API for real time weather update regarding the rain and precipitation information. Based on the information a farmer can have the control over the distribution of the water to their fields and can get better yield. | en_US |
