dc.description.abstract The project comprises of designing an autonomous robot that follows the outlines given by the National Engineering and Robotics Contest (NERC) that is organized by the department of Mechatronics Engineering, at the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering yearly. The project consists of development of an autonomous robot which is capable of picking up colored boxes/blocks and placing them in slots of their respective colour that are located in different places in the arena and these slots are connected through lines of white colour. The robot has been designed to track these white lines with the help of the sensors which are placed in such a way that they differentiate between the white and the normal surface. In the robot, colour sensors have been used. These sensors are used to help the robot to recognize the colour of the boxes and to place them in their respective slots. Some other sensors are also used for line tracking and junction counting. The output of the sensors is analog. This analog output of the sensors is converted into digital as the microcontroller can take only the digital signals as input. An analog to digital converter is used for this purpose. en_US
