| dc.description.abstract | Our project is the construction of an autonomous line tracking and color sensing robot, with the added enhancement of a voice module for wirelessly controlling the robot. The autonomous robot is capable of tracking white lines on a blue floor matt sheet. The lines are both linear and circular. The basic design is of a differential drive robot having Rota-caster wheels. The robot has a robotic arm for picking and placing colored boxes at their desired same colored locations by following white lines. The robot design is indigenous and has been designed by the group members. The design of the robot was checked on the computer before implementing. The electronic circuits were analyzed on electrical simulation software’s and designed for accuracy. It is programmed using the Atmel 89C51 series of micro-controllers. Various levels of difficulties were encountered during the construction, fabrication and coding of the robot. Sensor ICs were imported from the USA, mechanical parts and the fabrication of various electrical boards was done locally and indigenously. The robot is driven by a 24-V re-chargeable battery. The mechanical design, electrical specifications, the micro-controller programming and the weight of the robot; all have been designed to meet the criteria of the National Engineering Robotics’ Competition 2011. | en_US |
