| dc.description.abstract | The project which we have worked on and have explained the theoretical and practical results in this booklet is about the wireless sensor networks. In wireless sensor networks we have to face many issues in the designing process but the very important main issues that are the interests of experts are the size of the wireless network and the energy consumption. Some experts say that energy consumed should be kept as less as possible and this is the main area of interest in our project. Previously, different simulators like POWERTOSSIM have been used to get accurate measurements but recently presented hardware, that can measure the energy consumption, have shown much better and accurate results than the simulators. Hence we are going to design a hardware which will calculate the consumption of energy of a mote used in the wireless sensor networks. The mote which we are going to use in our hardware is MICAZ mote. We will design the hardware in such a way that it will be adaptable to all the other wireless sensor networks. During the designation of the hardware we will also learn how to install tiny OS (operating system) and to use MICAZ mote we will also learn how to use the nesC programming language in order to successfully understand how to burn and run the applications from MICAZ mote. In the end we will compare our model with the other previously presented models and our results will show that our hardware consumes lesser amount of energy which will ensure the successful completion of our project. Now as far as our final project is concerned, we decided to design this hardware because after completion of this hardware we would have revised all basic engineering concepts, have good knowledge about wireless networks, and also we will learn a modern programming language i.e. nesC. | en_US |
