Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of procurement strategy & planning on procurement performance with moderating role of IT. This study has considered procurement strategy, procurement planning, procurement performance review and e-contracting as independent variables, information technology as moderating variable, and procurement performance as dependent variable. However, oil and gas industry in Pakistan were the sector chosen to investigate the relationship between variables mentioned above. Quantitative research method was used as primary data collected through adaptive structured questionnaire based on 5 Likert scale. The responses have been recorded from 303 respondents (government and private employees) working in oil and gas industry in Pakistan. Responses recorded was analyzed through statistical instruments such as correlation and regression by using SPSS Software. The results indicate that procurement strategy, procurement planning, procurement performance review and e-contracting positively impacts procurement performance in oil and gas industry in Pakistan. However, moderation analysis has revealed that information technology positively moderates the relationship between procurement strategy, procurement planning, procurement performance review and e-contracting (independent variables) and procurement performance (dependent variable) in oil and gas industry in Pakistan.
