Abstract:
The supply chain provides your consumers worldwide with goods and services, but at an environmental expense. A truly sustainable supply chain means that corporate processes are morally accountable. Green supply chain practices are not only beneficial for the world and the people who live in it but it also supports the organization's economic expansion and performance. There is a significant amount of Green Supply Chain research has been conducted on the manufacturing industries in comparison to the retail industry. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Green Supply Chain Practices and economic performance with the moderating role of knowledge management capabilities in the retail industry of Pakistan. This research is based on the responses gathered from 200 retail stores of Rawalpindi and Islamabad through questionnaires. The relationship among the variables is tested by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Moderation analysis has been checked by using Andrew & Hayes Process Macro. The study focus on finding the relationship of three green supply chain practices which include green logistics, green purchasing, and cooperation with suppliers with economic performance. The moderation impact of knowledge management capabilities of retailers has been studied by using knowledge conversion and knowledge protection strategies. The results collected focuses on two cities of Pakistan show that there is a positive relationship between green logistics and economic performance meanwhile the relationship of green logistics and cooperation with the supplier with economic performance is insignificant Moreover results also suggests that knowledge management capabilities positively moderates the relationship of green supply chain practices and economic performance. It is recommended that research should be expanded to different cities and industries to analyze the impact of Green Supply Chain Practices on economic performance with the moderating role of knowledge management capabilities.
