Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the effect of magnetic field on heat generating/absorbing ferrofluid in a vertical annulus consisting of a pair of concentric cylinders with velocity slip and temperature jump at their surfaces. The governing equation are transformed in to dimensionless form using non-dimensional quantities and parameters. The system of equation are solved analytically by applying integration technique and solution is obtained in the form of Bessel’s function of first and second kinds. The results are presented graphically and discussed. The results show that velocity increases with an increase in nanoparticle volume fraction. The transfer rate of heat at the inner cylinder decreases for both cases of heat absorbing and generating fluids.
