Abstract:
This study examines the extent to which task stress and workplace incivility plays devastating role in increasing turnover intention through mediating role of emotional exhaustion and moderating role of employee resilience. The purpose of this research study is to analyze that how task stress and workplace incivility tends to increase emotional exhaustion in an employee and how these emotional situation results in high turnover intention, meanwhile to examine that how employee resilience lessen turnover intention in healthcare sector. The basic target audience of this research model which are used for data collection of above said variables will is employees of healthcare sector in three cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Chakwal. Total sample size of this research study is 225 individuals. In current study for the data collection, questionnaire was used to gather data from healthcare employees and for the analyzing the collected data, IBM SPSS version 21 is used. The findings of the study clearly depict that task stress and workplace incivility impacts on turnover intention, emotional exhaustion as a mediator in the relationship and employee resilience as a moderator in the relationship. One theory can help in supporting this research study i.e., Conversation of resources (COR). The investigation extensively contributes towards area of research especially in the domain of workplace incivility and turnover intention. This study also presents theoretical and practical implications for practitioners and academia’s. This study also highlights further future direction for researchers which may open a new gateway for further research
