Abstract:
Drawing on the concept of COR, this study investigates the new observable fact of Ostracism in mobile telecommunication sector of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The focus of the current study is to examine how workplace Ostracism impacts the knowledge hiding of employees in the presence of sequential effects of threatened efficacy needs and psychological distress as mediators. Data was collected from 225 employees working in the mobile telecommunication sector of Rawalpindi and Islamabad using the convenient sampling method. The results obtained in the end shows that there exists a positive relationship between workplace ostracism and knowledge hiding and psychological distress playing the role of mediator fully mediates this relationship. Also, threatened efficacy needs used fully mediate the relationship between workplace ostracism and psychological distress.
