| dc.description.abstract | Employees plays crucial role in organization as they are most important asset of it. So it is necessary to retain them by analyzing and to build relationship of employees and employer which is called psychological contract. Nurses in healthcare is a critical concern, as it is pays to the worldwide nursing shortage and is related with falloffs in quality of care, patient care, and Quality treatment of patients. Psychological contract breach also effects care teams and is related with decreased staff consistency and self-esteem this study explores the effect of psychological contract breach on employees’ retention by the mediation effect of affective commitment. The cross sectional method has been led to test the cause and effects and mediating assumption through Multiple Regression. For analyze sample of 361 responses has been collected from hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad (public and private), Pakistan. After conducting results we analyzed that there is negative relationship among employee’s retention and psychological contract breach. Therefore, affective commitment correlates negatively with employee’s retention. Psychological contract breach and employee’s retention partially mediate by affective commitments, if employees observe psychological contract breach then it would lead to dis-satisfaction and increase turnover.
