Abstract:
This study examined IT industry of Pakistan to understand the servant leadership philosophy and the influence of servant leadership on organizational outcomes for achieving innovative oriented performances, enhancing employee perfom1ance by knowledge sharing and building team effectiveness through the moderating effect of trust in leader. The data from 335 employees working in various IT companies operating in capital city of Pakistan was obtained through guestiOimaire surveys. The relation between servant leadership and organizational outcomes is studied under social exchange theory. The results showed positive influence of servant leadership when trust preva ils among the employees and leader. Organizations where employees have trust in their leaders tend to have more effective organizational outcomes. Theoretical and practical implications of findings are discussed.
