dc.description.abstract | Modern organizations are looking forward to take advantage of the innovative potential of their employees in order to become more innovative and to gain competences in marketplace. Employees novel ideas helps their organization to increase the productivity. The purpose of this study was to examine the Impact of humorous leadership on innovative work behavior. The study also determines the mediating role of job embeddedness. Data was collected using a questionnaire from 370 employees working in Telecom companies (PTCL, Ufone, Zong, Mobilink and Telenor) located in twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi. SPSS used to test hypotheses. Results indicate humorous leadership has positive and significant relationship with innovative work behavior of employees. The mediating role of job embeddedness between the relationship humorous leadership and innovative work behavior of employees was also supported by results. Different humor styles rather than just positive humor should be investigated in the future. Future research should incorporate multi-level designs and objective data on innovative behavior. Humorous leadership is an important element of innovation relevant leadership behavior. Its use may be integrated in broader leadership development approaches. To promote innovative work behaviors in employees’ managers and leaders can apply job embeddedness framework in human resources management. Human resource management give more attention to promote job embeddedness strategy in the firm. our findings also suggest that promoting job embeddedness in employees produces positive results in form of enhanced employees’ motivation to be innovate in the organization.
