Abstract:
Purpose: In this research the main purpose is to determine the impact of job stress on employee
job performance in banking industry of Karachi that what are the factors that create stress among
the employees because in banking industry employees are working under stress full situations
that ultimately become the reason of low performance so in order to understand the impact of job
stress on employee performance this research is based on quantitative research in order to get the
logical reasoning.
Methodology: The research variables include dependent variable that is employee job
performance and independent variable includes Workload, Working Environment, Role
ambiguity and Lack of Motivation and the sample size includes 384 respondents who are
working in banks. This research conducted regression analysis and Cronbach alpha for checking
the reliability and the impact of the stress on the employee performance.
Findings:
The findings from this research shows that all the variables include workload, lack of motivation ,role ambiguity and working environment has a significant impact on employee job performance moreover the data also shows that Lack of Motivation and Role ambiguity creates more stress
that directly impact on employee job performance. Regression shows 51.2% variation in the
employee job performance which shows that stress must be managed in banks because it is the
reason of low productivity and low performance of employees.
