Abstract:
Retaining employees is an important goal of every organization. This research explores the job
satisfaction that can significantly impact on employee retention in an organization. The literature
surveyed by this study following variables were used i.e. job satisfaction, rewards & recognition,
compensation and employee retention, organizational commitment, perceived organizational
support. The population for the study was 305 respondents out of 320 taken from a banking
sector in Karachi, Pakistan. The questionnaire was filled by the employees of banks through
Google form as well as through hardcopy of questionnaire. The total time was about 4 weeks in
which all the questionnaires were filled. The survey questions were categorized in to six
categories. Total 30 questions were asked on a Liker-type scale where 1 represents to strongly
disagree and 5 represent to strongly agree. The investigation approach exploits explanatory
research by making supporting condition model as an apparatus of investigation test. The
outcomes of this examination expressed that job satisfaction have positive relationship with
organization commitment but job satisfaction does not imapct on employee retention and
perecived organization support. Compensation have positive relationship with Employee
retention and organization commitment but there is no relationship with perceived organization
support (POS).Reward & recognition (R&R) have positive relation with employee retention and
perceived organizational support but there is no relationship with organizational commitment.
