dc.description.abstract Automation based cooling tower and home heating system is an idea emerged from the famous EU Company ‘Vaillant’. Vaillant provides home heating solutions using Natural Gas or Solar Energy as the main source of energy. This system used for both water heating and room heating .To make system more user friendly it uses embedded systems technology for the control system. User can set water temperature for his own convenience as well as room temperature. Microsoul is a Pakistan based unregistered company created by Final year Engineering student Naeem Ur Rehman to provide efficient embedded systems utilizing local ideas and thoughts as well as embedded systems and micro-controller technology. Automation based cooling tower and home heating system composed of two sub systems one is home heating system while other is industrial cooling tower (ICT). Basically it requires a source for storage of water, waterG is a water geyser where water can store for the purpose of heating as well as primary source of water storage in ICT. Water geyser composed of two types of heating. One is normal heating while other is quick heating. In normal heating, water geyser only utilizes Gas burner to heat water. Gas burner composed of gas control electromechanical valve and an ignition transformer with an ignition coil for the purpose of ignition for gas. In quick heating method both gas and electric heater utilizes by water geyser. Electric heater is composed of an electric coil. Hot water circulates through the room panel; room panel is composed of three things copper pipes, aluminum shielding over copper pipes and a proper supporting legs stand. Water will be supplied to room panel through the normal wiring pipes. Industrial cooling tower (ICT) is a model usually used in industries to circulate cold water through copper pipes and absorb heat energy from the external environment. ICT composed of a box with a supply pipes. Supply pipes are pipes in which hot water will be sprayed out in cooling tower. Heat sinker on the top will try to cool water while surrounding supporting fan with air outlets will boost up the cooling speed. For the purpose of circulation and providing speed to circulation of water and to control more heating or cooling, pump is used. Transfer panel is a panel of 2 electromechanical flow control valves which will decide whether ICT or home heating system is in working. Microsoul, embedded this system with the electronic control systems. One is electronic control panel while other is remote control system. In electronic control, touchpad is used for providing different inputs to the system including modes of system (ICT or water geyser), heating methods (normal heating or quick heating), water temperature set, room temperature set. In electronic control panel, LCD is used for the output readings and required system states. In remote control, GSM module is used to control the whole system utilizing GSM technology. GSM control enables a user to control system remotely. In remote control features are same as in electronic control panel. PIC micro-controller is the soul of project which controls the whole system remotely or through I /O devices (Keypad and LCD). en_US
