Abstract:
Purpose: Workplace stress is very common these days. Every employee irrespective of gender
faces job stress. Previous studies examined job stress factors for both the genders with variables
such as low salaries, autonomy and role conflicts were examined. The purpose ofthe study is to
highlight job stressors for Women at workplace with different variables such as absence ofjob
satisfaction, harassment, meeting targets, personal relationships, discomfort at workplace and long
working hours and checking its impact on employee productivity. Each stress factor needs to be
thoroughly studied and examined to be solved accordingly.
However objective of the study was to identify the extent these job stressors has an impact on
productivity ofwomen at workplace as well as coming up with coping techniques that would result
in betterment of organization as well as employees.
Method and Design: Sample size selected was 108. Questionnaire was used as data collection
method. Data collected was from SSGC and target population was females working on managerial
and non-managerial level. Questionnaire consists of 20 questions. Data analyzed through IBM
SPSS version 2.2
Findings:
Results shows that Discomfort at workplace, Personal relations and meeting Targets tends to have
significant relationship with productivity ofwomen at workplace.
Recommendations:
• Proper strategies should be made regarding managing uncomfortable workplace
environment.
• Employees should be given coaching regarding maintaining a balance between their
Personal relations and work. Managers should focus on workers and create such
environment which would urge them to be productive at work.
• Stress management workshops should be made so that employee would be aware of
handling pressure when targets are assigned as well as they would have grip on their
emotional intelligence
