Abstract:
Purpose
The purpose ofour study is to find the effect ofthe benefits ofERP on supply chain management,
the study also investigates how different types of benefits ofERP affect the core competencies of
supply chain management. Our study aims to find how much efficiency and effectiveness of the
supply chain department in any organization is increased or decreased by these benefits ofERP.
Methodology & Design
This research is conducted using a deductive method and is quantitative to find the answer to
questions and to achieve the goals ofthe study. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used
to gather data from the research target through google forms.
Findings
The main finding which came as an outcome ofthis research is that there is an overall positive
impact of benefits of ERP on supply chain management competencies. The ERP benefits like
Operational Benefits, Business process & Management Benefits, Strategic IT planning Benefits
were found to have a positive impact on Supply chain competencies like operational process
integration, customer & relationship integration, and planning & control process integration.
Limitations
The impact ofERP on SCM competencies was studied in this research. There will be still scoped
to develop even though measurements have been tested for validity and reliability. Most of the
consulting firms do not seem to have retained the cords or have monitored the success of the
company.
Recommendations
ERP systems should be used to reduce unnecessary costs and increase collaboration. ERP systems can
be used for better planning of activities so that resources are utilized efficiently. It should be
utilized to improve customer relationships.
