Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to study the impact Job Satisfaction (JS), Employee
Training (ET) and Leadership Style (LS) on Employee Performance (EP) of faculty in
private universities ofKarachi, Pakistan.
Methodology & Design: A questionnaire was designed to collect data from 358 faculty
members of private universities in Karachi. Respondents answered questions regarding their
job satisfaction, training, leadership style and performance. Data was analyzed using SPSS
on the basis on regression and correlation test.
Findings — From the results obtained, it was found that employees who are satisfied with
their job tend to be more productive than those that aren’t. Also, employee training has a
significant positive impact on performance of employees. Lastly, effective leadership
enhances employee performance significantly
Limitations — This research followed s a cross sectional approach hence we cannot make a
definite conclusive remark on causal relationship between dependent and independent
variables. Also, our study was focused only on private sector universities of Karachi, so the
results ofthis study cannot be generalized for other public sector universities of Karachi and
other cities of. Lastly, this research presents a very general idea of each of the three variables.
Nevertheless, future researches can examine these multi-faceted variable separately and
independently to study its effects on employee performance
Recommendations - Based on the results, we recommend that universities should plan and
implement strategies that would improve the job satisfaction among lecturers. We further
suggest that management should invest in providing training programs for the lecturers to
their skills and expertise in delivering content & lastly, we suggested that improve
universities’ management should have the capability to lead the employees in a way they feel
involved and inspired to perform better |
