dc.description.abstract Organizations face many obstacles in order to achieve competitive advantage in this of the most significant challenges is increasingly dynamic market climate, and maintaining their most talented workers. The effective human resources management one practices of a company play an important role in the attraction of valuable employees to gain a competitive advantage. This is why the current study has been conducted to determine how and how the most threatening phase has occurred in education in the last years in terms of employee retention, in recruitment and selection, training and development, performance evaluation, compensation and benefits and strategic alignment of human resource management practices in the Karachi sector The research is conducted on the bases of quantitative method. Data was collected from full time working employees acquainted with the education sector of Karachi by using a structured questionnaire or multiple method technique has been employed for collection of data. Sample size ofthis research is 390 full time working employees (Faculty member, non faculty member and administrative staff) acquainted with the education sector of Karachi. Sampling probability sampling because the population size in technique ofthis study has non unknown. The measurement of Cronbach's Alpha, the indicator of internal consistence, has also been used to evaluate the data set. The inflation factor has been estimated to evaluate multicollinearity problems. The research method used as multi-linear regression to determine the effect of recruitment and selection, training and growth, performance evaluation, compensation and retirement of employees in the Karachi education sector has been used. The research findings indicated that HR activities, i.e. recruitment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation & benefits and strategic alignment are strongly associated with employee retention. en_US
