Abstract:
Purpose
The purpose of the study is to investigate the role of limited numbers of suppliers, long term
orientation and communication towards strategic purchasing. This research will analyze how
limited number of suppliers, long term orientation and communication has attitudes towards
strategic purchasing.
Methodology & Design
The data was collected more than 400 respondents through online method. The questionnaire
was designed to test hypothesis on the following assumptions.
• The number of suppliers is not found significant towards strategic purchasing.
• The long term orientation is found to be significant towards strategic purchasing.
• The communication is found to be significant towards strategic purchasing.
Findings
The finding of the research shows that there is no positive attitude of limited number ofsuppliers
towards strategic purchasing where as long term orientation and communication both have
positive attitudes towards strategic purchasing.
Limitations
There was limited a small number of targets respondents the data was done by the employees and
different management level of companies. Time is important while conducting research the more you give the time the more you get the knowledge of the study. The data has been taken from different FMCG
companies of Karachi.
Recommendations
In order to create positive attitude than companies should have a clear vision about all these three
variables and its impact of strategic decisions. Companies should take positive steps to create
innovate ideas to make better decisions for purchasing. Different meeting should be held as well
as different motivational conferences among the employees and suppliers which reduces the gap
and gain trust among them. They should have to build strong relationship with employees to
meet the organizational goals.
