Abstract:
Purpose: The aim of this research ofstudy the impact of perceived leadership styles on the
employee engagement in pharmaceutical industry ofKarachi, Pakistan.
Methodology & Design: The sample size that was chosen by my supervisor was 384 and out
of which 315 questionnaires were filled online. Data was collected from pharmaceutical
industry in Karachi, Pakistan. The questionnaire contains 47 questions with the Likert rating
scale. The data was analyzed through using IBM SPSS software version 22.
Findings: The results show that transactional leadership, visionary leadership, classical
leadership, equity sensitivity and need for achievement has negative impact on employee
engagement while organic leadership and need for clarity has positive impact on employee
engagement.
Limitations: This research is based on pharmaceutical industry also Karachi region only also
time was the main constraints for this research as we are already suffering from this pandemic.
Recommendations: Organizations need to be focus on employees need and engagement. Also
need to work on their leadership style.
