dc.description.abstract Purpose: The aim ofthis study was to find out various components ofTraining & Development (T & D) currently being implemented at KPT and then to examine their impact on employee motivation. Components ofT & D used forthis study include, training needs assessment, training environment and content, trainer’s competences, training methods and training evaluation. Methodology: The nature ofthis causal study is descriptive and quantitative. Deductive approach was adopted whereby literature was studied and hypotheses were developed before collection ofdata from 302 respondents through a well-structured questionnaire. Hypotheses were tested through application of statistical tools, including Cronbach Alpha, Pearson’s Correlation and Regression analysis, with the help ofsoftware called Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS), Version 23. Findings: The analysis of data reveals that most ofthe components oftraining and development applied in thisthesis are having positive significant impact on employee motivation. Out offive components, two components i.e. ‘training need assessment’ and ‘training environment & content’ have insignificant impact on employee motivation. The remaining three components are having significant positive impact on employee motivation. Implications: This proves that some training components help to improve the prospects of motivation ofthe employees at KPT. The study is considered very helpful to the management of KPT in determining influence ofvarious training programs on employee motivation. It is also helpful in ascertaining the weaknesses in the existing training programs of different employees and then taking necessary steps to further ameliorate training practices. The study is equally useful for academia and researchers of other industries. en_US
