Abstract:
Purpose:
This aim of this study is to analyze what factors influence the retention of employees in an
organization. Factor of employee retention chosen for this study include remuneration &
reward, training and development, career opportunities, work-life balance, employee organization value fit.
Methodology:
With the purpose of generalizing the results and findings, the study has focused on
undertaking the current research phenomenon in the Karachi Public School branches. The
study has gathered 290 responses from the sample population. In this research, purposive
sampling technique has been used. The study has employed multiple regression analysis for
data analysis using SPSS version 21.
Findings:
The relationship between remuneration and reward, employee-organization value fit was
positive and insignificant with employee retention. However, training and development,
career opportunity and work-life balance was positive and significant towards employee
retention.
Implications:
The relationship between training and development and employee retention is positive and
significant. Therefore, the managers are recommended to develop employee retention with the
help of effective training and development. First of all try and survey each employee or at
least set a survey platform on which employees can easily drop out suggestions for different
training programs.
