FACTORS AFFECTING FINANCIAL LITERACY AMONGGRADUATE STUDENTS

Abstract

Purpose The purpose ofthis study is to explore the concept ofFinancial Literacy among students who have completed their respective undergraduate and graduate degree therefore it is also important to analyze three major factors effecting the change in the level offinancial literacy in an individual which in this case are the students. Furthermore we will also be studying the relationship between financial literacy and its major factors. Methodology & Design As a researcher I will be analyzing and discussing my research on the basis of primary data collected from current and former graduate students that are or have been enrolled in any type of Master’s program; however our main focus will be on graduates from Bahria University along with other reputable universities like 1BA, Iqra and Karachi University. Furthermore with regards to this particular research design the thesis research type will be correlational research as I will be studying the relationship between Financial Literacy and the three major independent variables that are: A) Financial Education Level, B) Socioeconomic Factors & C) Demographic Factors. My method ofData collection will be through creating questionnaires on Google Forms and to forward them to all concerned individuals. The time period that it will take to collect the required data from a sample of 300 students will vary to about 8 weeks maximumafter which I will record my collected data and analyze it through the SPSS software. As a researcher I need to point out that probable objections for this study will be regarded to time frame and accurate analysis of the collected data while carrying out my thesis research. Lastly as for my thesis the type of research design will be Qualitative Research based.
