Abstract:
Selling Raw Electronic Components comes into place when one buys a new laptop/computer and the previous laptop/computer becomes of no use. There are many ways to go and start selling your components for example; you can post on technological websites and see if it interests any of you. Graphic Cards, Motherboards, Processors, RAM, Video cards and Wi-Fi cards become of no use other than just being considered as junk. Cell phones and other electronic devices contain Gold and Copper. The US alone discards mobile phones with $ 60 million worth of gold and silver yearly in DDR RAM IC Chips contain 1.2- milligram gold in 1 kg of equipment. Recycling 1 million laptops saves the energy used by 3500 homes in the US annually. Large components of E-waste are electronic gear that can be re-utilized and reused for materials recuperation.1 The negative impact on the environment by the irresponsible disposal of electric waste is due to the harmful contents of the devices which include high levels of toxic materials such as Mercury (Hg), Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr), PVC, and Brominated Flame Retardants 2. At the electronic device end of life, it can be disposed of, recycled, or can be stored. When an electronic device is disposed of in the trash it will end up in a landfill and toxic materials will potentially mix with the environment. Due to the uncontrolled disposal of electronic devices, e-waste had become a global dilemma where e-waste had populating ever-growth landfill area and the United Nation had warned that the e-waste problem at the developing countries like China and India could be a double in the next ten years3.
