dc.description.abstract This project attempts to realistically simulate the air traffic control (ATC) radar system. The user of the simulator will be able to mimic the workings of a real approach controller. Approach control services are provided by a facility called the Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON). TRACON facilities are provided at most major airports around the world. The user will have to ensure that arriving and departing air traffic from an airport maintain a minimum lateral and vertical separation. In addition all arriving air traffic will have to be properly sequenced and aligned with the Instrument Landing System (ILS). The software uses voice recognition to take instructions for the aircraft. Development is done in Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) using C#, XAML and XML. en_US
