Online pharmacy service

Abstract

Health care is major issue both in developed and under developing countries that includes mainly lack of availability of doctors and unavailability of life saving drugs, moreover, the qualification and quality of doctors and medicines is a serious issue. Talking about the first problem i.e. unavailability of medicines, sometimes people have to visit different pharmacies to find out if any of the pharmacies have all of the prescribed medicines in the inventory which results in wastage of time and resources simultaneously cause depression to the patient and the family members. The second problem i.e. unavailability of quality medicines, according to WHO pooled analysis (from 2007 to 2016) out of 100 studies by undertaking more than 48,000 samples of drugs, resulted that 10.5 percent of the drugs in under developing countries were fake/counterfeit or substandard. Which resulted in increase of deaths from 72,000 to 169,000 from childhood pneumonia. In Pakistan there are only two online projects (dawaai.pk,shifa4u.com) currently working on pharmacy products, but their business model is not feasible for patients who need the medicine at the same day and in minimum time. The problem arise because customer have to request on website with prescription and then have to wait for some days until order is received. Therefore it is necessary to introduce a system that will be able to solve the problem. The proposed system works in such a manner, therefore patient would be able to receive the requested order on the same day in minimum time depending on the distance. In order to receive a medicine, patient is required to find the nearby pharmacy on the map and make a chat with pharmacist to be aware if the pharmacist has all the prescribed medicines in the inventory. After receiving the confirmation of availability of medicines pharmacist will find the rider and dispatch the requested medicine. Rider will be able to see the locations of pharmacy and the destination. After accepting the ride, rider will pick the medicine and deliver it to the requested location. The are several advantages can be achieved by using the proposed system such as: Minimum time delivery of medicines for old patients and household women. As well as quality pharmaceutical products from trusted pharmacy of patient will be delivered; that results in increase of satisfaction level of the patient
