dc.description.abstract Literature on the scope of art in the world of development is limited as to address the issues faced by the artists to keep pursuing their goals and achieve a state of recognition and identity in today's world. The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship of art and development and to identify the socio economic problems faced by the artists. Research was conducted at Lok Virsa, as there are many artists available on daily basis where researcher can talk to them, to explore the range of services which are provided by the Lok Virsa. Libraries, theaters and exhibitions are the assets of one's culture. People should understand the worth of intellectuals and human capital of their country. As we all see art is neglected in all fields, we do not produce writers, poets, calligraphers and intellectuals nowadays. Art helps in improving the economic growth of a country. It also helps in mental well-being. Art industries gives boost to exports of a country, encourages tourism which is further good for economic growth of a country. Lok virsa is a hub of art, craft and heritage but researcher got a chance to document one sided story which says Lok virsa does not support, nor provides any extra facilities to all the artists working there. Artists have demands from the govt. and higher authorities. They want to be facilitated financially, physically and morally en_US
