dc.description.abstract | This study explores the pre-surgery perceptions and experiences of various kinds of patients. The thorough analysis of perception of patients focuses on the role of surgery and its impact on different kinds of people. Although, the study is designed to address various issues affecting surgery such as decision making and socio-economic class, the primary focus is on the dynamic role of gender in the given context. The perspectives of females on the subject of surgery and their respective experiences play an important role in the formulation of their beliefs regarding pain and anxiety. Furthermore, the study also sheds light on the notion of cultural hindrance factors that can possibly affect an individual in the terms of decision making, income and choice of doctors. This study primarily deals with female perspective about the surgery since the existing literature is confined on the idea. The study also analyzes and highlights the contribution of religious and cultural coping mechanisms and the poor compliance associated within the health sector. Consequently, the factors that are mentioned in the study provides us with a holistic account on the topic at hand.
